To address food insecurity and economic vulnerability, HIRDO implemented critical cash interventions. In 2025, HIRDO provided multipurpose emergency cash assistance to 270 households (1,620 individuals) in Kahda district. This support significantly improved food access and financial stability for older people and persons with disabilities. Earlier, in 2022, HIRDO extended its cash assistance program to 440 drought-affected households (2,640 individuals) in both Kahda and Heliwa districts. These included older people, persons with disabilities, and women-headed households, who received unconditional cash transfers to reduce their vulnerability and help them meet urgent needs during the drought crisis.
